Today's great irony was that I regarded every sketchy young white guy in the train with a new level of apprehension, only to be approached later by the same lame breed of youngish black guy trying for my attention as who used to make me irate when I was a young woman living in the so-called Combat Zone. *sigh*

Tonight I was reminded of why I like lj (thanks, Meg): it's cause lj is like the rickety wooden swing hanging from the old tree in your back yard. It's there, it doesn't change much except to grow older and more dowdy, and yet, when you finally go back to it after a long time away (in the company of shiny new toys) and sit a while, you're home.

I confess:

I'm so excited about my recent revisions to my novel that I'm thinking of becoming a writer! ;-)

This spring was so cold and rainy, I expected summer to descend fully formed and grumpy. It didn't disappoint.

Today I was glad to see my friend, the owner of Minds Eye Yarns in Cambridge, update her blog after many months absence.

-boy and cat sleeping in my bed
-apt smells of fresh cooked delights
-new communication skills
-friendly neighbors willing to split the cost of Internet
-two, new homey and welcoming yarn/sew shops
-friends new and old, only a text, call, or digital connection away

- that returning from Maine vacation is always a culture shock for me. The swimming, biking, eating, and hours of doing exactly nothing all belong to Maine. The feeling stressed out, sleeping poorly, and running about all belong to Boston.

I missed Confession Tuesday, so I'm hanging out with her cousin Friday Five. Here goes:
